Youth Parliament

The Youth Parliament is an annual event in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) that helps students learn about how India’s parliamentary system works:
Purpose
The Youth Parliament gives students a chance to participate in debates, discussions, and decision-making processes in a parliamentary style. The event also helps students develop leadership skills, civic awareness, and an understanding of democratic principles.
Levels
The Youth Parliament is held at three levels: regional, zonal, and national.
Format
The event mimics the functioning of a real parliament, with a mock parliament set-up and exposure to parliament-type debates.
Participants
Five teams participate at each level.
Benefits
Students gain valuable insights into governance and policy issues through their firsthand experience.
